CTMH Open House!

A short while ago I went to Open House that my CTMH demo Deanne had. I made this card while we sat back and looked at all the nice new products they have in the new catalogue. I have to say that I think the paper in this catalogue are so much nicer than any others that I have seen.

Some of the stamps are so cute also. They have some new stamps that are like Bellas... They are sweet.

I am sorry I can't tell you the name of the stamp set or the name of the colors.

How are you all doing today? Here we had a snowstorm and then when that ended it started to rain. I was really hoping for a snow day so I could just sit back and make some cards but I wasn't that lucky. Oh well, better luck next time.

Hope to be back real soon with another new card.

Another Card From Watercoloring Class!

I made this card last week at a Watercoloring Class that I attended. We watercolored with re-inkers and aquapainter. It took a nice bit of work but I think that it was well worth it.

This set is so cute. I especially like the little birds.

Recipe:

Stamps: Love You Much
Paper: SU DP, Whisper White, Real Red
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Punches, Aquapainter
Ink: Versamark, various reinkers

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. They certainly do slip by so quickly.

Enjoy what is left of it.

Happy Birthday Dave!

I made this card for my bil Dave for his birthday today. I bought these stamps a while ago from Purrs and Pants and thought that this card would be perfect for Dave. My niece has a black lab and Dave seems to have a new best buddy. They do alot together.

I found this card a challenge as I knew that I wanted to use this designer paper but where it is so busy I wasn't sure what else I was going to do with it. My dh helped me out and told me to use some black around the image. It seemed to work out well. The pattern was just so busy that it threw me off. I have to say thought that I am pleased with how it turned out. I first had the image all done on white paper and then didn't like it and thought that it would look better done on vanilla and I was glad that I did.

I will be back again tomorrow night with another card from my watercoloring class.

Recipe:

Stamps: Purrs and Pants
Ink: Momento Black
Paper: Pacific Point, Black, Very Vanilla, Pets DP from DCWV
Accessories: cuttlebug, nesties, ribbon, copics, bone punch

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Watercoloring Class!

On Monday night I attended a watercoloring class hosted by Suzy Haghighi. You can visit Suzy's blog at http://blog.papermonkey.org I visit Suzy's blog often and when my SU demo Kay Smith sent out an email about the watercoloring class I just couldn't belive my luck. I was finally going to meet Suzy. I had been a fan of her work for a long while and never even knew that she lived in Newfoundland too. I thought she lived in California. Great luck. I learned alot at the class and was so glad that I went. I was so pleased with how this card turned out. I also really like the way the colors blend together. I never would have put tangerind with kiwi kiss. Now I learned that also.

We used reinkers with an aquapainter. Suzy taught me well I think. I was so pleased with this card. I hope to get to try out this technique again real soon so keep your eye out and don't forget to give me your opinions on the new cards if you could.

Recipe:

Stamps: Eastern Elegance
Paper: SU watercoloring paper, tangerine, kiwi kiss, dp su
Ink: Various reinkers, versamark

Thank you so much Suzy for the wonderful class.

Cheers

SC211 and Janet's Birthday Card!

I made this card for this weeks card sketch over at SCS. I thought that it was time that I got back into trying to do them as often as I could and seeing that my sisters birthday was today I thought that I would use the sketch.

I just love this MFT set and think that it is so sweet. I haven't used it much but do intend to try and use it more. I have so many sets that I don't use that much and it is something else that I thought that I would do this year for myself. If you are like me then you collect and collect paper stamps etc and spend more time buying the using them. For me I think this needs to change.

My sister was very pleased with how this card turned out which of course made me so glad. I just love making cards for people who really appreciate them. It gives me so much pleasure.

I am hoping to build my card stash this year also to have some ready for when occasions come up. Instead of the last minute ones like I so often do.

I guess we will juse have to see if I stick to those promises to myself.

Recipe:

Stamps: Time for Bubble
Ink: Momento Black
Accessories: Cuttlebug, embossing folders, copics, su markers, taltine, primsacolor pencils, watercolor brush, tin foil, punch, jewels
Paper: Whisper White, Rose Red, Gable Green

Hope to be back real soon with another card

Happy Stamping!
