What A Hoot!

I bought this set awhile ago and am just getting around to using it. You know how that is. I have to say that I thought when I ordered it that I would be able to color the owl but it is not meant for that. I think he is so cute. This is from a set called Flock Of Birds from Inkadinkado. It was alot of fun to make.

I got to use my nestabilities and have to say that I just don't get sick of them at all. I was concerned when I bought then that they would be one of the things that I just bought and never used that much but I don't think that anymore. I just love using them and the effect is awesome.

Recipe:

Stamps: Flock of Birds from Inkadinkado.
Paper: Whisper white, Close to Cocoa, DP from Basic Grey called Lily Kate and the very vanilla
Ink: Close to Cocoa
Accessories: nestabilities, cuttlebug, su marker, M's dewdrops, punch

Sleep tight.. hope to see you again real soon.

Hello Again!

I never got a chance to make a card yesterday so I just had to give this one a try tonight. I went upstairs to my stamproom (I am still enjoying saying that) and this set just called out to me. I had wanted to do some sketch challenges but it just never turned out that way.

I do find it pretty hard to concentrate lately because I have too much going on so I was glad when this card came together so quickly.

I had alot of fun coloring this image as I always do. I used my copics again. They sure will take alot of getting used to let me tell you but I am not one to give up. I will master them yet. It took me awhile to get used to other techniques so this one will just take a bit more practice too. Maybe that might be alot more practice.

This image is called From The Garden and it is a hostess stamps. As soon as I saw it I just knew that I had to have one to color. In case you haven't guessed I just love to color.

I have to thank my friend Kelly for introducing me to the M's dew drops. She gave me some of the clear ones and I tried to get some for myself and came home withe three different colors other than the one that I went for. Kelly if you want other colors, just give me a call. I have yellow, pink and torquise and clear. I just love the effect they add to the cards.

The designer paper is from Basic Grey and I can't remember which one. The other paper is called Rose Red.

Anyway, I am off to bed. Have an early rise tomorrow morning again.

Sleep tight and hope to see you again real soon.

Take care

New Blog Layout & Design

I have wanted to change my blog for awhile now but never got around to it because I could never see anything that I liked until I stumbled upon this one today. I just love sunflowers and I love the three colums instead of two.

While I like this new template I lost some of my widgets so I am in the process of getting those again. We all learn by our mistakes I guess. Should have read more details instead of just pressing the enter cutton I guess. Oh well, live and learn I say.

So what do you think of my new template? Any suggestions?

Hope to be back tomorrow with a new card.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Time for R & R!

I made this card for my DH for tomorrow. One of his friends at work is retiring and he wanted something special for him. These stamps are so fitting as dh friend (Kelvin) is moving around the bay to a place called Dover. My dh will certainly miss him as they have been buds for about 5 years now. They change shifts for each other and one would always bring in Timmy's coffee and tea for the other. For a joke Ev is giving Kelvin a teapot filled with Tetley Tea. Cute idea and I bet Kelvin will get a kick out of it.

I must go and get stuff ready for work tomorrow and then off to dream land.

Hope to see you back here on the weekend!

Take care... enjoy the rest of your week.

Blogger Award!

I have to say Wow! to Kelly over at Handmade by Kellybee as she thought that my blog deserved an award. For that I am truly touched. It is so nice when fellow bloggers think that your work deserves an award. Tks so much Kelly. I feel honoured.

I guess we all like a bit of recognition for the hard work that we put into our blog and designs.

This is called the “Arte Y Pico” award.

I took these rules straight from Kelly's Blog. Cut and paste is wonderful.

There are some rules to follow if you accept the award and I hope I get them all straight:

1. You have to award it to five other people (based on creativity, design, interesting material and contribution to the blogging community)

2. You have to name the 5 people you chose and link their blogs.

3. You have to show the award and show the name/link of the person who gave you the award.

4. You must show the link of the “arte y pico” blog so readers can visit there to learn the origin of the award. The website is in Spanish so I translated it (with help from Google, of course - Newfoundlanders are not generally known for learning Spanish as a second language!) and take a quick browse through.

I nominate the following people for the award:

1. Debby over at Through my Stamproom Window

2. Lori Barnett over at Stamp Scents

3. Kelly over at Kelly's Art Journaling

4. Leah over at All Th!ngs {PR!SS}y.

5. Julie over at Out To Impress

Tks again Kelly for nominating me.

Have a great day!
Mother's Day!

Good Sunday Morning to you all. Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

I stated this card last night and got too tired to finish but for some reason I just couldn't get this card off my mind and couldn't sleep because of it so I decided to just get up and finish it. Funny how that happens sometimes.

This card was inspired by a blog by Sue Nelson She truly is the cuttlebug queen. It really is worth a look. She has some amazing work on there.

I had alot of fun making this card. I hope you enjoy it!.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Thank You's for My Hubby!

My husband has started his own business doing house plans on Auto-Cadd and he asked me to make him some thank you cards. These are the first two that I designed. He was pleased with them so that was good. I will keep making some for him and hope that business really picks up for him.

Recipe:

Stamps: Stampscapes, M's stamps
Paper: Whisper white, very vanilla, green, carmel, close to cocoa
Ink: Stazon brown
Accessories: SU markers, punches, nestabilities, clear embossing powder, taltine, stumps, primsacolor pencils

Hope you all had a great weekend. The weather here this weekend was really nice for a change. I could actually sit out on my front step this afternoon and could feel the heat from the sun on my face. I really hope this keeps up as winter has been too long and we all need a break. Spring is a time for renewal and a time for change. I am hoping to make some changes in my life over the next few months.

Have a great evening :-)

Life Is Good!

When I was checking out my friend Kelly's blog (Handmade by Kelly Bee) I saw that she had a bit of a challenge there for me. She knows me and I have to meet those indeed. She wanted me to use something that I don't use very often. Things that I collect maybe. Well Kelly I think this one will do the trick. I got to use not only some hardware but also some brads. I surprised myself at how fun it was. Getting to use my new punches helped though. I also did this card for the weekly sketch challenge over at SCS. When I saw it I automatically thought of using this new Riley stamp that I had and when I was going through my dp I just had to use this one. It came together rather quickly too.

Part of me thinks that this card needs something else but then again I always think that. I have to be satisfied with my work. I think they all need ribbon and maybe this one does. I will look at it for awhile and see I guess.

Recipe:

Stamps: Riley (Hanna) and Meet Me at the Cafe (MFT)
Ink: Stazon Black
Accessories: Copics, punches
Paper: Purely Pommegranate, Basic Grey DP from the Mellow Collection

Have a great evening and hope to see you again real soon.

Finally Finished!

Ever have one of those days when you feel like life is getting in the way of your stamping? Well today I was having one of those so I knew it was time to put some things away and get down to it.

I was over at my friend Kelly's last weekend and we started this card but never got it finished as we weren't very pleased with how it was turning out. It almost made it to the garbage but I challenged myself to fix it and have to say that I am pleased with how it turned out. Funny thing happened to me last night when I was working on this card and I just had to give up for the night. I was trying to get the flowers to fit in the punch that matches the set and it just wouldn't fit. I got so frustrated that I emailed my demo only to find out that this stamp was replaced because there was a problem with it. She replaced it right away. Tks Kay.

I will have to see if Kelly finished hers.

Recipe:

Stamps: One of a Kind
Accessories: SU Marker, Signo Pen, Dew drops, Cuttlebug, punches, adhesive ribbon
Paper: Groovy Guava, Ruby Red

1st Tall Card!!

Hard to believe that I have been stamping for a few years now and have never made a tall card. Yesterday afternoon I went over to my friend KellyBee's and spent the afternoon making cards and of course gabbing. This is one that we came up with. Kelly was so organized so had a list of things that we could do and had some sketches done for us to use. We did try another one but neither one of use was very happy with how that one turned out. I had a great time and it was so nice to get to spend some time with Kelly again. I missed that.

I finally got to use my new copic markers on this card. They are not as easy as they look to use at all. They will definately take some practice but I don't mind because I love to color and experiment.

These stamps were Penny Black and I don't know the name as they were Kelly's and when I saw them I just had to use them as they were just so cute.

I am pleased with how this turned out and hope to get together again real soon with Kelly again to make more.

Tks Kelly for a wonderful afternoon :-)

Recipe:

Stamps: Penny Black
Paper: SU Rose Red and Black and DP
Accessories: Copics, Pallett Noir ink, square punch, liquid applique

Hope you all have a wonderful day :-) See you again real soon.
