This is truly a wonderful accomplishment and I really wanted to make it speacial for her. My Dad thinks an aweful lot of this girl and he had never asked me to make him a card before so this card had to be special.

I have to say that I am really pleased at how it turned out. There wasn't much stamping on this card only to make the background paper with the words Karate and Blackbelt. I never had any paper that I thought was appropriate so I remember seeing a background like this on someone's blog a while ago. I am sorry that I can't remember to give her credit.

I really hope my Dad and Riley like this card. I think they will though.Karen Gladneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00733650592786158260noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8765701180714867538.post-71668638100923646642011-01-31T20:35:00.003-03:302011-01-31T20:38:13.795-03:30Valentine's Book & Pen<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 260px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu-4pjxeWVT1CmXt78bZ4afVD94AWlYU36987iIO5LH_yPB3dxN_9K9Dqg6kEhRyEO20t-Mz9aTC5OXWb1KZez1JZtpFgkSZAPdwiQJsoH81HOq3f_7tI5dr3xh62y6Cwo_bNIl-IxXDI0/s320/Valentine+Book+%2526+Pen.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568505590387301666" />

I spent the afternoon with my friend Kelly yesterday and this is one of the projects that we made. Tks Kelly for a great afternoon.

I always find it hard getting back to making cards after Christmas as I always find that I need a bit of time off. Me an seamstress. I think not! For anyone who knows me they know this could not be further from the truth. This is the first card that I have even sewn on. What do you think? For the first time I don't think it is too bad. I have had this particular sewing machine for almost three years now and to tell you the truth I never ever put thread into it until this week. Shame on me. Since it was such a long time since I used one I guess I was a bit intimidated. Not good I know. Well it is conquered now. I think I need better thread though. This stuff keeps cracking.

How are you all doing? Been awhile since I was on here. I thought it was high time that I got back at creating again. I want to make a bunch of cards to have on hand for occasions that come up.

The cat on this card is from on old SU set that I ordered on SCS a few years back called Cattitude. This cat just cracks me up. He reminds me of a ginger cat that we used to have named Misty. He always seemed to looks all pissed off too.

The paper is from a pack I bought a few years back at Walmart called Cats and Dogs.
There are alot of cute papers in there and over the next while you might get to see more of it as I build my card collection.

Hope you all are enjoying your week.

Be back probably on the weekend with another card.

Take careKaren Gladneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00733650592786158260noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8765701180714867538.post-26133142106598312542010-12-25T10:59:00.002-03:302010-12-25T11:00:52.672-03:30Merry Christmas!I wanted to take this time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Mine are a bit behind but then they are every year. Why should I think this year will be any different. lol

I made this card recently using my first digital stamp purchase at Whimsy Stamps. It is an image called Trimming The Tree. I have to say that after using these digital stamps I will definately be buying more. They don't take up much room compared to the others. Whimsy stamps has a great collection of images that are so fun to color. They remind me of the Whipper Snapper images. I love to color both of these type of images.

I will be back tomorrow with another Digital Image to show you.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and don't worry about the preparations. If you don't get it all done then there is always next year.Karen Gladneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00733650592786158260noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8765701180714867538.post-82370518151248894992010-11-30T18:47:00.003-03:302010-11-30T18:47:54.809-03:30I have to appologize for not getting back on here to show you any new projects.

I have been too busy lately and ended up hurting my neck again.

I will hopefully be back again tomorrow evening.

Take careKaren Gladneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00733650592786158260noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8765701180714867538.post-42650390542454755402010-11-28T21:23:00.004-03:302010-11-28T21:30:57.602-03:30Penguins in Echo Park<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 251px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMSFojngSFCvwtK-QXnqFGAlfMhaukOtZX4xdETzZq1x4r7hDTtyQCu-KK4G0ZMNhEopsRloqtfsF7zq4butOoOl84wRIWzC7peJy2_3yCu6fH1ewQddKzwYjTEArU97YlR37K9We7MhQI/s320/Penguins+with+Echo+Park.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5544768649769548050" />

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I spent alot of time this weekend making cards so that hopefully I could sell some. Always nice to make a bit of extra money so that you can buy more new craft items.

This paper me and my friend Kelly bought from the US and it is from Echo Park. This is the first card that I made using the paper. The ribbon I did a bit of a different way and I like the way that it turned out. Nice change. Not sure if I did it right or not but it is different.

How are you all doing with your Christmas preparations? This year for the first time in years I am a bit ahead. Nice cause then the closer it gets to Christmas the more time I will have to relax. I always have so much last minute things to get done. Hopefully I won't get behind on all the rest of the things that I need to do.

Spend the afternoon at my friend Kelly's and met a new stamping friend called Melanie. It was a nice afternoon and hopefully we can get together again real soon.
Tks once again Kelly.

Tonight I am just sitting back and relaxing for a change. My poor neck needs the rest. Back to work again tomorrow. The weekends go by so fast.

I will be back tomorrow with some tags that I made today at Kelly's.Karen Gladneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00733650592786158260noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8765701180714867538.post-12575327433743605812010-11-25T21:27:00.003-03:302010-11-25T21:36:36.119-03:30Ornaments<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 264px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2Th0AylFEQI2SYc1rwGX7uLg1kDjy4fGxQyXnrd-ClNEFfCd8Ko8jktVOFyFS8lIpvNfYASvZCdIjpiUIjhyduYC9zHdzzp7oeoG7laooAbvvAJIq-ax9sK4A-0QieoRiEylYg5Q4l_U2/s320/Holiday+Cheer.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5543657815046685810" />

How are you all doing with your Christmas preparations? Can't believe only one month away it Christmas Day. Seems like only last week it was Christmas. Guess that is a true sign that I am definately getting older.

Anyway .. back to the card.

I made this card the other night and I can't quite say that I am completely pleased with it. For me it lacks something. My daughter tells me I am just too picky.

I have had this set of stamps for a couple of years now and never seemed to get around to inking it up for a card. Had a few things done with it that I never liked and threw out. Maybe I am too picky.

I will be back on the weekend with some new cards to show you.

Enjoy the rest of your evening !Karen Gladneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00733650592786158260noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8765701180714867538.post-30740864445019746382010-11-23T21:21:00.003-03:302010-11-23T21:24:34.269-03:30Cardinal Christmas!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 239px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQoVsPk4Z7a-KM1KaMNT03Eq63WFdvhP9zCqw14rAQqbo3oD4p8MmBLzsDcrOnIMtlQqiYFfQw1sDbWIQrAnMQbZh3Pz6gMxntJyRfdCWRjlw00bEQ2pexeRHJU6ZoabwTeoq5mjn6M5k9/s320/Cardinal.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5542912589238656850" />

I bought this paper last year marked down after Christmas. I hope where you are to is warm. It sure is chilly here in Newfoundland tonight. I think with the wind chill it is about -12 degrees C. Colder than it has been here in a long time.

This chilly weather is fitting for the snowmen that I wanted to show you. I was over to my friend Kelly's and she cut these snowmen and tags out with her Cricut. Aren't they the cutest thing. I really like them and hope to get over to here place again soon and make more.

Come back again tomorrow as I have another new card that I have made to show you.

Enjoy your eveningKaren Gladneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00733650592786158260noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8765701180714867538.post-70072286545037229472010-11-21T22:09:00.005-03:302010-11-21T22:22:43.406-03:30Hope You Enjoyed Your Weekend!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 134px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLqL6ca20XdWoVRyO_RZRR5YbCoGHHM6XyCzhjyUuIpoJwht_U89ZWYFWby88voJrQYCI1qoNv2jEDhZxI__C-tzMu6NhxRwosnFYe-r66VHd0vSOR4DQdm-Blc4B8vrwijz0QiggEoj-0/s320/Jovial+Kit+6.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5542182921833498402" />

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I sure did. For the first time in months me and my dh actually went out and spent an evening with another couple. We had a great time. A nice change indeed. One that I hope we can do again real soon.

I have to say a big thank you to Sheila at Scrappin Great Deals for cancelling my order and allowing me to pay for it again so that I could get it more quickly. I had a little trouble with my palpal account (completely my fault) and when I went to pay for my order it came up that I was paying with echeck and I don't know if you have ever had to do that but it seems to take forever to get your order. I am looking forward to getting the order as I ordered some new Nestabilities that I hope to show you something with as soon as I get them.

The card above was made with the Jovial card kit. I am almost finished showing you them. I have something a little different for you tomorrow night. I have some tags to show you that me and my friend Kelly made using her Cricut. They are so cute and easy to make.

Enjoy what is left of your evening.Karen Gladneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00733650592786158260noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8765701180714867538.post-52422504723462046502010-11-19T21:22:00.004-03:302010-11-19T21:28:01.183-03:30Continuining On With Jovial Card Kit<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 221px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHY5HjtCyZiNO4kJOxUZPg-nAOhqof5nqWHFioKZIIsq_S0AXNokdi1pntXVkqEbkxXcWctQXT41BKl8d6LS11tzTuoEg8_sekO4_N1DfxV4ouLZnxCYPlVpWVP2TKNbgBCOpnpa00TyvF/s320/Jovial+Kit+5.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5541429013074275394" />

Sorry I missed last night but I have had a couple of difficult days at work for my neck. I can't say that these cards have been hard to make at all. I don't really enjoy doing them as much as I would if I stamped and colored them. I guess it is good to try new things.

Hopefully this week I will get more cards stamped and I may even get some of them colored.

I find since I have had this pinched nerve that coloring is hard for me and it is the one thing that I really loved to do more than anything. It is the fist time that I
ever bought a card kit and it was fun to do but I have to say that I do prefer to stamp my cards and put them together my way. I do like the color of the papers and everything but it will probably be the first and last time that I buy one.

This is the first card that I made from this kit. It was also the first time that I used rub ons and I think they take a bit of practice. We made a card pretty similiar to this last year at our card class but I changed it a bit. I used the moon mask and changed the color from Night of Navy to Pacific Point. I had some of the paper because it was in in color before. I am so glad that they brought it back again. I also used photo paper instead of whisper white.

I hope the weather is as nice where you are as it is here today. I just love the sunshine. I think there is something wrong with my camera and it is not that old. Then again maybe it is the user. I better check the manual. The picture is a bit yellow I think.

It has been so nice to get back to making cards again. I decided it was time to get a start on my Christmas Cards. I would really like to sell alot of them this year. I was too late last year and sold none.

Christmas cards are my favorite to make. I just wish that I could spend more time coloring but for now I am trying to make my cards with little to no coloring.

This card is make using some DP from SU from last year. I just love the colors. I think they really look good together.

This year I found it hard to get some Christmas Paper that I was happy with so me and my friend Kelly had to order most of our paper online. I find the paper selection this year at Michael's wasn't that much and the patterns are just too large. I find most of the patterned papear the images area too big and I don't do scrapbooking so there is alot of wastage. I did get some awesome paper today thanks to Kelly. I am hoping to get to use it really soon.

I have a number of cards to show you over the next few days.

Must get back at making more before it gets too late.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.Karen Gladneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00733650592786158260noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8765701180714867538.post-80603331876376238192010-11-08T20:39:00.004-03:302010-11-08T20:48:32.059-03:30Back In the Saddle Again and Copic CertificationWell I am finally getting back to making some cards again. Am doing much better and I am back to work part time right now. I have made a few cards that I am hoping to show you over the next few days. Hope you come back and take a look.

Copic Certification

I have been emailing a representative from Copic asking that we have a Copic Certification Class in St. John's, Newfoundland and I was advised that if I can get 25 people interested then they would consider coming here and doing a class.

So if you are from Newfoundland and intested in becoming Copic Certified then please contact me by leaving a message or by email.

So far the copic people are going as far as Halifax for classes. We are really hoping to get them to come a little further so that we can learn more about those awesome markers. If you have used them then you know how awesome they are.

Enjoy the rest of your eveningKaren Gladneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00733650592786158260noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8765701180714867538.post-48105109636902685572010-09-23T12:33:00.003-02:302010-09-23T12:36:14.936-02:30Still Around!Hello everyone. I have been dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck and it is causing me alot of pain down my arm and a couple of my fingers are going numb.

I am presently going to Physio and hope that it will help and I will be back at making cards really soon. I have to say that I really do miss making cards.

Enjoy your summer. Over the past few years I have used it often. I bought two others sets to go with this one and used the Loads of Fun with this for the trailer. I had so much fun making this. The coloring made me feel like a little kid again. I think that is one of the reasons I love making cards. I get to color.

The paper is from basic grey.
