Mother's Day!

I stated this card last night and got too tired to finish but for some reason I just couldn't get this card off my mind and couldn't sleep because of it so I decided to just get up and finish it. Funny how that happens sometimes.


This card was inspired by a blog by Sue Nelson She truly is the cuttlebug queen. It really is worth a look. She has some amazing work on there.

Thank You's for My Hubby!




My husband has started his own business doing house plans on Auto-Cadd and he asked me to make him some thank you cards. These are the first two that I designed. He was pleased with them so that was good. I will keep making some for him and hope that business really picks up for him.

I really hope this keeps up as winter has been too long and we all need a break. Spring is a time for renewal and a time for change. I am hoping to make some changes in my life over the next few months.

Life Is Good!



When I was checking out my friend Kelly's blog (Handmade by Kelly Bee) I saw that she had a bit of a challenge there for me. She knows me and I have to meet those indeed. She wanted me to use something that I don't use very often. Things that I collect maybe. Well Kelly I think this one will do the trick. I got to use not only some hardware but also some brads. I surprised myself at how fun it was. Getting to use my new punches helped though. I also did this card for the weekly sketch challenge over at SCS. When I saw it I automatically thought of using this new Riley stamp that I had and when I was going through my dp I just had to use this one. It came together rather quickly too.

Part of me thinks that this card needs something else but then again I always think that. I have to be satisfied with my work. I think they all need ribbon and maybe this one does. I will look at it for awhile and see I guess.

Finally Finished!



Ever have one of those days when you feel like life is getting in the way of your stamping? Well today I was having one of those so I knew it was time to put some things away and get down to it.

I was over at my friend Kelly's last weekend and we started this card but never got it finished as we weren't very pleased with how it was turning out. It almost made it to the garbage but I challenged myself to fix it and have to say that I am pleased with how it turned out. Funny thing happened to me last night when I was working on this card and I just had to give up for the night. I was trying to get the flowers to fit in the punch that matches the set and it just wouldn't fit. I got so frustrated that I emailed my demo only to find out that this stamp was replaced because there was a problem with it. She replaced it right away. Tks Kay.

I will have to see if Kelly finished hers.

1st Tall Card!!



Hard to believe that I have been stamping for a few years now and have never made a tall card. Yesterday afternoon I went over to my friend KellyBee's and spent the afternoon making cards and of course gabbing. This is one that we came up with. Kelly was so organized so had a list of things that we could do and had some sketches done for us to use. We did try another one but neither one of use was very happy with how that one turned out. I had a great time and it was so nice to get to spend some time with Kelly again. I missed that.

I finally got to use my new copic markers on this card. They are not as easy as they look to use at all. They will definately take some practice but I don't mind because I love to color and experiment.

These stamps were Penny Black and I don't know the name as they were Kelly's and when I saw them I just had to use them as they were just so cute.

I am pleased with how this turned out and hope to get together again real soon with Kelly again to make more.

More Easter Cards!




So are you all sick of eating chocolate yet?? I have to try and keep my hands off what is here in the house. Had some last night and that has to stop.

Here are a couple of cards that I made for my family for Easter. They are made with the latest stamps that I had ordered from Hanna Stamps called Riley. I just fell in love with this moose and had to order some. I think they are adorable.

I made the round one for my DH and the square one with the chicken for my sister and her hubby. They both were well liked so I was so pleased. It was hard for me to make these today as my neck is still in spasm and doesn't seem to be getting much better.

I had alot of fun making these though. I felt like I was on a roll and just had to get them all done before I sat back and relaxed for a bit.

Hope you all have a great Easter. We went to my Dad's for supper and he had a wonderful turkey dinner with all the fixings. My daughter Staci made a really nice bluberry cake with brown sugar sauce. It was all delicious. My dh worked tonight so we dropped off his dinner on our way home from my Dad's. He will enjoy it later I am sure. I was smart and got him to take all of his chocolate with him at work. That way I don't have to look at it and have to resist temptation.

Riley's 1st Easter



I finally got a chance to work on an Easter card and I dont' think I will get many more done tomorrow. I have had a bad neck ever since Tuesday when I woke up. I managed to color this one last night and then finish it tonight. I have to say that I love the bright colors and the way that this turned out. I think I am going to give it to my daughter Staci for Easter. She will like it I think.

This is the first Riley stamp that I ordered from Hanna Stamps. They are just so cute. I have another Easter one with a check and Riley and hopefully I will get to finish that card tomorrow so I can post it. Stay tuned and see if I manage to get it done.

Birthday Wishes!



I made this card for a friend that I have been emailing on Splitcoast for the DSS. Her birthday is the 28th so I figured that I better get it in the mail so she might just get it on time. It seems to take so long to get things to and from the States. I hope that she likes it.

I know that I have been missing in action but I have been busy and never had much time to do much stamping. I need to find more room especially now since I have my own stamp room. It is just wonderful and don't know why I never did it before. This week my dh is going to put up some shelves for me and I am hoping to get at some more stamping soon.

I Made It!





I finally made it back to show you something new that I have been working on. For the last little while I have been busy helping out my demo do some cards for a swap. We made some beautiful cards using the petals set. We made them into butterflies.

Anyway...

Here is a card and notebook that I made for my little sis on the DSS Forums on SCS. I must say that it has been fun. I got to use my new bind it all that my dh gave me for Christmas. It is a new toy indeed and one that you will probably see alot more things made out of on here.

The paper I used was a great find at Wal-Mart. The package is cat and dog papers and I just love them. They are so cute.

I hope my little sis likes this...

Mouse With A Big Heart!



I finally got a chance to get back to doing some stamping. Been busy lately with all kinds of things. I finally bit the bullet so to speak and moved into my own stamp room. You may find this strange but I have always had the opportunity to have my own stamp room and chose not to as I never wanted to be alone while I was doing my stamping work. I preferred to be in our rec room with either my dh or dd while I was doing my stamping. Silly I know but such is me. I kinds outgrew my corner space in the rec room and figured that it was time for me to move. I have to say that I really had alot of fun moving and setting up my own room. I will get it all organized like I want it to as I go.

I made this card tonight for my daughter Staci. I think she will like it. I got to use some of my favorite toys. My cuttlebug and of couse the handy dandy nestabilites. I just love them. I had fun making the bottom background as I used my versamark with some stamps that I got last year from Michael's. I like the way that it turned out. I think that Staci will too.

Trying Out A New Set!



I saw this set in the catalogue and figured that it was time that I starting making more Valentine Cards. I haven't really celebrated Valentine's Day for the past few years as it was the day that my Mom passed away five years ago this year. I think that she passed away on that day because she was so loved. I really miss her.

I had a bit of a problem figuring out how to put this card together but I think that it came together well. I am pleased with how it turned out. I always have so much trouble trying to figure out where to place the ribbon. I think that ribbon really sets off cards and gives them that little extra that they so often need.

For the backgrond on the heart embossing folder I tried a new technique that I read about on SCS. You sponge ink on the inside of one side of the embossing folder before you put it in the cuttlebug. I like how it turned out and will definately be using it again.

Wow! Three Days In A Row!



Well Kelly's challenge the other day must have motivated me. I am so pleased that this is the third day that I have posted a card. (Pattinig myself on the back)

I made this card for my bil as today was his birthday. He and my sister have a sailboat and love the water so I thought that this set would be quite fitting for him. We have so much fun the summer when we get to go for a saiil.

I don't know why I have always really liked lighthouse for some reason and when I saw this set long ago I just have to have it. I bought this on the BST forum at SCS. It was well worth the money. I definately would never part with this one. It is definately one of my favorites.

Anyway, enough babble. My BIL Dave really like this card so I was pleased.

Getting Back Into Stamping Again Now!!



My friend Kelly kinda challenged me today to post something again today because yesterday was the first day that I posted something this year and it was definately too long. I of course, had to rise to this challenge and post something.

This is the first calendar that I have made and I must say that I enjoyed it. I just love this designer paper and of course I had collected it for awhile before I used it but I am working on that too.

I was supposed to get together with Kelly today to do some Valentine stuff but of course the weather around here would not co-operate with use. We are in the middle of a snow storm here now and it is not expected to stop till tomorrow morning and it has snowed since lunch time. Bummer.

I'm Finally Back!



Been awhile since I finally got around to making a card. Between everyday life and a bad back and neck I just haven't been able to do anything.

This is a card that I made for my Sisters Mother In Law as she is having surgery on Monday to remove a lump in her breast. I wanted to bring it up to her this weekend so she would know that I was thinking about her and wished her all the best. I hope that it will make her feel a bit better. I can only image what she must be going through. Being an 86 year old woman and find out that you have breast cancer must be scarey. She is such a sweet woman and I just love her dearly.

I was at Michael's last night and saw this ribbon and this card just went on from there. I thought that it was so cute and then I thought about this set. It is not quite a match for the real red but it will do.

Fluffles Christmas



This is the Christmas card that I made for my daughter Staci. She loves the fluffles stamps just about as much as I do I think. She fell in love with this one when she saw it. I gave her one of the ornaments to match it also. I really like how this one turned out. I just love this designer paper from Stampin Up. There are so many things that you can do with this georgeous double sided paper.

So are you all glad that Christmas is over? I am not because today I am going back to work after being off all last week. Not looking forward to that one at all.

More Christmas Ornaments!










I hope you are not sick of looking at all the ornaments that I have been making. I made these for my daughter to give to her teachers. I hope they like them.

I always find the images that I one these are not as easy as one may think. I have tried to many images but only a few that I have been happy with. I think Fluffles is my favorite though. I haven't seen a Fluffles stamp yet that hasn't been able to make me smile.

The Flaky friends ornament is my all time favorite so far. The penguin is so cute though too.

Tell me what you have been up to for Christmas and how your plans are coming.
I am on holidays now till the 27th and I am going to sit back and enjoy my family for awhile. I don't think that we ever do enough of that.

Basic Grey Christmas!



I made this card today when I had a bit of free time as it has been too long since I made a card. I bought this tree stamp at Walmart awhile ago. It was in a set. From the minute I saw it I knew that I wanted to use it with the Basic Grey Figgy Pudding paper that I already had. I am pleased with how it turned out.. What do you think.

How are your Christmas preparations coming along? I find this year that I just can't get in the mood for shopping at all. I did enjoy a bit of it today as I got my DH a pre christmas present. I got an acousitc guitar for him. He has been wanting one for years and when the opportunity came along for me to afford this for him I took great pleasure in doing it. He was so pleased with it. The look on his face said it all. It is so nice to give. I felt so good to be able to do that for him. I would not have been able to wait till Christmas without giving it to him anyway.

Been Awhile!

Wow! It been awhile indeed since I got the chance to post. This time of year life is just so busy there aren't enough hours in the day. Between Christmas shopping and everyday life there just hasn't been enought time hardly to even stamp. This card was 3 nights in the making. Way too long to spend on one card for me but I just had to get it done.

I made this card for my sister to give her friend for Christmas. I actually never came up with the idea. I saw this on Splitcoast and it was created by Cammie. I had fun doing this.

It is so nice to get inspiration and ideas from others but for me it is imporant to give them their credit also.

I used this set from MFT called Meet Me at the Cafe. I used bits of rubber to make my own stamp for the bricks. I just attached them to a small acrylic block from the Michael's 1.50 stamps. It worked out well. I used my stamping up marker Really Rust to color the rubber with.

I am pleased with how this turned out and hope that my sister will be also.

In coming days I will be posting more as there are still many projects to make. I just hope that I get the chance to get them all done.

Another Christmas Ornament!






Been busy lately and really never had time to do much stamping or anything but last night I decided to try and find and image that would fit on these tree ornaments. I bought these at Michael's awhile ago but just could not come up with an image that I was happy with on it.

I checked through all my Christmas stamps last night and decided to try and use two of the three ornaments that were on this penguin stamp. Then I used this little snowflake that I had gotten at stampcamp while ago.

I colored the ornmanet with sharpie markers. They are wonderful for this kind of coloring.

This is so cute and makes me smile... what do you think?

Christmas Cardinal Glass Bulb!



Finally got a chance to use this georgous set called Christmas Cardinal. I bought this a few month ago on Splitcoast Buy and Sell. It is a set that I have always regretted not buying when it was out in the Mini last year. I was so pleased to be able to finally get it.

I colored this window sheet again with Sharpie Markers. I am really pleased with how it turned out and think that I will definately be making more of these.

Last year I made alot of bulbs but went through all the trouble or coloring the window sheets with craft paint and it took forever to finish one. This time it took only a few short minutes and it dried instantly so I could do it all in one day. It is so nice to find something that saves you time like the Sharpies did for me.

What do you think of this one.

I am pleased with how it turned out and there will definately be one of these on my tree this year.

Fluffles Ornament!



I got some of these ornaments at Michael's awhile go and finally got some time to play with them. I had to use my Fluffles stamps. I just love these. I think I have said it before but they remind me of my cat Smokey. She is fluffly just like Fluffles.

I colored the Fluffles In Lights Stamp with my Sharpie Markers that I got at Staples yesterday.

I tried to color Fluffles but it just never looked right so I just erased it and of course started over.

I am pleased with how this turned out though.

Simple and Fun!



This card was so easy to make. I am having so much fun using my cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. It goes with so many stamps and wheels that I have.

I am still working on cards to give my sister to see if she can sell them for me at her work. I thought this one would add nicely to the collection.

Working on some more Christmas decorations that hopefully I will get finished today and then post to show you later today or tomorrow.

Christmas Snowglobe!



I finally got this snowflake embossing folder in the mail today. I saw so many beautiful things done with it that I just had to have one. I also got this set last weekend at Michael's for 1/2 price. Gotta love those coupons.

I haven't posted before this as I have been sick with the flu once again. I don't think that I had the flu so often as I have this year. In our household we just can't seem to get past it for some reason.

I am feeling much better now though. Hopefully this time it will be gone for awhile.

This Week's Sketch Challenge!

This one came together quickly and it was fun making it. These stamps I got last year at Wal-Mart. They were great set. You get three stamps for $4.96. One 3 X 3 and 2 1.5 x 1.5. Great price don't you think. I have been at Wal-Mart a couple of times this year and still haven't found any new ones but I will keep checking.

I used patterned paper that I bought last year at Wal-Mart too. Love the patterned paper. It makes everything so easy.

Snowmen have to be my favorite stamps to work with for Christmas. There is just something about them that make me smile.

On A Roll!



Wow here I am again. I can't believe that I am posting another card. I must be on a roll lately or something because I have sat down every single night and made a card. That is the first time in a long time for me. I must say that I am really enjoying it too. Hopefully I can keep it up.

I made this card using the Crayon Resist Technique and used one of my favorite sets, Lovely as a Tree. There is just something about the stamp used on this card that makes me happy. I looks like a happy tree. Yes I know that is strange but true.

I used glossy paper to stamp the tree so I could use the white crayon. I always like how these turn out.

Another Thomas Kinkade!



Here is another Thomas Kinkade card that I made. I am going to have to make more as I think that I am going to try and sell some of these for sure. My younger sister is going to try and sell some of these at her work for me and I am hoping that this will be a good seller. I think that it will.

I was having alot of trouble with these Kinkade images as I was never satisfied with the detail on it. I asked the great people on Splitcoast Stampers what they thought that I could do and I had so many excellent ideas but in the end the one that worked for me was to lightly sand the rubber a bit and dada.... it worked. I was so relieved. I just had to make another one right away.

I colored it with my primsacolor pencils and used my taltine to blend the colors. Used my corner punch to add a bit of detail. Put some glitter on the snow to add some great sparkle and then I put a page protector over the image. to stay away from bows should it could be a bit masculine maybe. Anyway I am pleased with how it turned out.

Another Fluffles!



I thought that after I posted my last card that I was getting ready to go to bed but I couldn't. I had this idea is my head and I just had to see it through tonight. I remember having a 1.50 stamp from Michael's with tree lights on it and immediately I thought of using it with this Fluffles. My daughter Staci pointed this Fluffles out to me one night when we were at Michael's. Of course I just had to have it.

Used a bit of crystal effects on the lights on the card and used my good old giga rectangle punch. I just love those.

Anyway I am off to bed now for real

Retro Fluffles



Another Christmas card. Anytime I can use a Fluffles I will because they have to be one of my favorites. I am a big lover of cats and the Fluffles Stamps remind me so much of my cat Smokey. Smokey looks round like Fluffles but it is definately not a weight problem. She is just very fluffy.

I am not used to using colors like this for Christmas but I guess they will grow on me. I am more of a traditional person.

Finally Starting Work On Christmas!



I bought this stamp while ago at Michael's and finally decided to dust it off this morning and see what I could come up with. I made one of these glitter windows at stamp class a few months ago and when we did I thought that it would be perfect for Christmas cards. I am pleased with how this came out.

The dp I bought last year at Michael's but do find that it is hard to match as it is such an off color blue. I managed to match it with this paper but it is not really what I wanted but I will do.

I am going to start to make some Christmas cards this year to sell. I have a couple of people are willing to take them to their work for me.

My 1st MFT!



Finally got some MFT stamps and have to say that I am quite pleased with how easy they are to use. Not so pleased with how they don't come completely clean after you use them though. I am a stickler for my stamps being clean and with these I guess it is just something that you have to live with.

I used my SU patterned paper and also So Safron and Regal Rose. I am pleased with how this one turned out and will definately be using them again.

Paper Bow!



This is a paper bow that I did this evening using the new Basic Grey paper called Figgy Pudding. This particular pattern is called Shiver. I think it is cute. I had alot of fun making this but it took more time than I thought that it would. I think next time will be better but I never completely read the instructions over before I started in at it. I used to think that it was the male thing to do or not do so to speak. lol

Trick or Treat!!!



I was in the mood for making another Halloween card tonight. They are so fun. The designer paper sure make things alot easier as I said before and this layout has helped me alot too. I am not a person who is good with colors but at least with Halloween you know what colors to use.

This card I used my Autumn Apparitions Set from Su and also some $1.50 stamps from Michael's. They come in handy so often. I also used some die dimensions that I got from Michael's also. They are by K & Company. They come in such a big package that I think it will take years to use them up. The ribbon I got at the $1.50 bin at Michael's also. I bought a few of them.

Well I am off to bed.

Got some new stamps in the mail today so you will probably see something else new tomorrow.

I bought this designer paper awhile back and just couldn't figure out a way to use it that I was pleased with until I saw this pattern on Splitcoast the other day. I decided I like it so much that I was going to copy it. I think it is so cute and I love the layout. It came together so quickly. Patterned paper makes things so easy to do.

Another Thomas Kinkade




I am having alot of fun with these new stamps from Thomas Kinkade. They are just georgeous images. I bought two but I was just telling my dh this evening that I think that I am going to have to buy more.

This one I stamped with SU Night of Navy on SU Whisper White and then colored in certain parts with my Primsacolor Pencils and Taltine. Then I applied some two way glue and added some gazzling diamonds. I am very pleased with how this turned out and I don't think that it is the last of these that you will be seeing.

Card Sketch SC147




I have wanted to get a chance to do the weekly card sketch that is on Splitcoast for awhile now but for one reason or another I just never got to it. I started this card last night and finally got a chance to finish it tonight. I bought this stamp for Thanksgiving and had this image already colored but could never figure what layout to use in it and when I saw this one on Wednesday I knew that I would finally get a chance to use it.

I colored the image with my primsacolor pencils and used my taltine with stumps to color it with. I love the effect the create. The colors are so vibrant. I also got a chance to use my faithful cuttlebug. I just love that thing. There are so many things that you can do with it.

I am pleased with how this turned out so now it is time for you to tell me what you think.

Happy Birthday Everett!



This is a card that I made for my hubby for his birthday today. I really never thought that it would take so long so I came home from work and had hoped to have it done before supper so that I could give it to him and boy was I wrong. My poor hubby had to go to work this evening and work all night for 12 hours without even having a card from me for his birthday today. I felt so bad but I had to wait till he was gone to work to get back to doing this card. I found this pattern on splitcoast. It was just what I was looking for. My hubby is always fixing something around the house and if he is not doing things around our house then he is busy helping out someone in my family. What a guy he is! Gotta love him.

Tomorrow morning when he gets home I will give him the card. I told him that I was working on his card when I spoke with him this evening at work and he was fine with that. He knows that he always gets a special card for occasions now. I must say that he does appreciate them too. He has the cards that I gave him on the wall in our rec room.

I can't wait to see his face in the morning when he sees this. I have had those tools for years now and have always intended to make something for him out of them. There are three more yet so I will have to make something else out of them for another occasion.

Finally got my Thomas Kinkade Stamps Silent Night and Village Christmas. From the first time I saw these I knew that I just had to have them.

These were only simple to do but I think they are quite elegant. They remind me of some old fashion dishes that my parents used to have. I particularly like the ones done in Navy.

Stamp Camp Christmas Card



We made this card at Stamp Camp last Wednesday night. It was so much fun to make. It was done with a technique called criss-cross card. It is not that hard to make. We had alot of fun making it. We used SU designer paper and it co-ordinates great. I will definately be making more of these for sure. There are five different punches used in making this card.

Another contribultion to World Card Day. I am having fun with this. This Sunday is Thanksgiving in Canada and this year for the first time I am having my whole family over for dinner. All 14 of them. Yikes... Hope I can handle it. I am not used to cooking for that many. Looking forward to it though. Anyway, after rambling off on the dinner I forgot to say that I wanted to make something to put on the table that I made and somehow it turned into a card. I never intended that but just went with it. I am pleased though with how it turned out.

This is a set called Thoroughly Thankful and I have had it for awhile but never got around to using it until today. I colored it with the faithful Primsacolor Pencils and Tantine with stumps. That always works out well.

Happy World Card Making Day!!


Today is World Card Making Day so I decided when I got up seeing that our time was so much ahead of everybody else's that I would make a Halloween Card. I am going to try and sell a few of them this year. I have been stamping for over two years now and have never bought any Halloween Cards.

I think this set is so sweet. I just had to try and make something with it.

I am not completely satisfied with this one but it is only the first of what I hope will be many more to come.

Today is another beautiful day here in St. John's so I need to get out and enjoy it. Fall is such a beautiful time. I love the colors and the crispness of the air. It is just a shame to not get out. Soon we will be stuck inside wishing that we can get out. You know that dreaded word "SNOW" could happen anytime now. Winter is not my favorite time at all. Actually I hate it for so many reasons. Driving in it, shovelling it, freezing in it.. The list is endless.
