I Am A Seamstress!

Isn't that a joke. Me an seamstress. I think not! For anyone who knows me they know this could not be further from the truth. This is the first card that I have even sewn on. What do you think? For the first time I don't think it is too bad. I have had this particular sewing machine for almost three years now and to tell you the truth I never ever put thread into it until this week. Shame on me. Since it was such a long time since I used one I guess I was a bit intimidated. Not good I know. Well it is conquered now. I think I need better thread though. This stuff keeps cracking.

How are you all doing? Been awhile since I was on here. I thought it was high time that I got back at creating again. I want to make a bunch of cards to have on hand for occasions that come up.

The cat on this card is from on old SU set that I ordered on SCS a few years back called Cattitude. This cat just cracks me up. He reminds me of a ginger cat that we used to have named Misty. He always seemed to looks all pissed off too.

The paper is from a pack I bought a few years back at Walmart called Cats and Dogs.
There are alot of cute papers in there and over the next while you might get to see more of it as I build my card collection.

Hope you all are enjoying your week.

Be back probably on the weekend with another card.

Take care

I Made It!

I finally made it back to show you something new that I have been working on. For the last little while I have been busy helping out my demo do some cards for a swap. We made some beautiful cards using the petals set. We made them into butterflies.

Anyway...

Here is a card and notebook that I made for my little sis on the DSS Forums on SCS. I must say that it has been fun. I got to use my new bind it all that my dh gave me for Christmas. It is a new toy indeed and one that you will probably see alot more things made out of on here.

The paper I used was a great find at Wal-Mart. The package is cat and dog papers and I just love them. They are so cute.

I hope my little sis likes this...

What do you think??

Recipe:

Stamps: Cattitude
Paper: Whisper white and designer paper from Wal-Mart
Ink: Stazon Black
Accessories: bind-it all machine, coasters, glue, cat trinkets, giga round scalloped punch, primsacolor pencils, taltine and stumps.

Hope to see you all real soon with a new project

Good night :-)

I made this card for the Card Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. It has to be one of the nicest layouts that I have ever used. I did have trouble coming up with a stamp that I wanted in the middle but when I finally chose this one it all came together. I thought that the fish charms really went with the card. The only problem is that the glue that I used didn't dry clear. You know what I am going to have to do with the card eventually. Yes take it apart and do it again. I can't give someone a card that has glue showing through. It won't be a big deal to do but I will feel better when I get it done. I think I will go home again tonight and see what else I can come up with for this sketch challenge. There are so many other great cards on Splitcoast to look at for this challenge if you would like to take a look. Give the challenge a try and see what you can come up with.

I do find that doing these challenges has helped me alot with my creativity. I just find that I don't get at them enough. Maybe now that the summer is winding down and things are coming to an end that I will have more time to do them.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting :-)

This is my contribution to Sketch Challenge SC129 on Splitcoast. This is a retired set called Cattitude. I saw a card on Splitcoast that I thought was so cute that it made me just want to have this set. I checked out the Buy/Sell/Trade forum on Splitcoast and there was someone who was nice enough to part with this set for me. I was so pleased. My only problem is the mail and how long it takes for shipments to make it to Canada from the US. I think it took over three weeks for me to get this set. It was well worth the wait though. I was so pleased with how this one turned out. I have been trying to work on my watercoloring and do a better job on my shading. I was very pleased with how this one turned out. The background paper I bought for $6.50 at Wal-Mart. It is cat/dog paper and seeing I am such a lover of them I just had to have it. It is so nice to get a bargain.
